Slime Secretion from Physarum Plasmodium

All three images are of the same Physarum plasmodium. The left hand panel is a DIC (Nomarski) image; the right hand panel shows an immunofluorescence image after labelling with a polyclonal antibody for slime; the central panel shows the two (left/right) panels after pseudocoloring (green = DIC, red = slime) and merging. The inset shows the close correlation of slime and small surface projections. Scale bars show 10 um units.
