Compare this image with Image 10 and Image 11. The plasmodium shown here is large enough to display an advancing "fan-shaped" front (right of center) and a trailing region made up of plasmodial "veins". As is typical of such migrating plasmodia (this one was moving from lower left to upper right), the agar surface behind the trailing veins has several "slime tracks" marking the prior location of plasmodial veins via the slime coat that they secreted.
