Full frame width = 1000 um
This slide, which is comparable to Loan slide H87, is a thin section of skin, stained with Toluidene Blue. Indicated in the dermis are a sweat gland duct ("SGD") and a large bundle of smooth muscle, presumed to be one of the arrector pili ("AP") even though no hair follicle is included in this section. At the boundary between the epidermis and the dermis, are scattered melanocytes. These are best seen in regions such as at the asterisk, which is shown at higher magnification in SKIN 09A.
