Here, at higher magnification, is the region of the fingernail shown in SKIN 06. Numbers "1" - "6", indicate, respectively, dermis of the nail bed, nail matrix, body of the nail, proximal nail fold (including the eponychium), nail root, and a bit of the hyponychial epidermis. The region centered on "2" and "3" is seen at still higher magnification in SKIN 06B.
