SKIN 02A

Full frame width = 165 um

Here, at higher magnification, is the region around "3" in SKIN 02. Two sweat gland ducts are seen to the left ("D"); each is lined by a stratified cuboidal epithelium. The large oval profile in the center (it was labelled "3" in SKIN 02) is a secretory tubule of the sweat gland; the secretory epithelium is cuboidal/columnar, or possibly pseudostratified. The short horizontal and vertical bars indicate small dark patches interpreted as the cytoplasmic projections of myoepithelial cells. The darker finger-like patch at the thicker vertical bar may be a portion of the nucleus of one of these myoepithelial cells.
