PANCREAS 04

Hide Legend
Full frame width = 1000 um

This low magnification field is taken of the pancreas sample on slide H51. Most of the field is occupied by portions of several lobules, each showing numerous exocrine acini and one or more clusters of Islet cells (examples at the arrows). In the connective tissue separating the lobules (and holding them together) are elements of the vasculature, as well as neural components. In the upper center of this field is a small parasympathetic ganglion, from which extends (downward and to the right) a bundle of nerve fibers. This ganglion, and the surrounding tissues, is shown at higher magnification, in PANCREAS 04A.
