Full frame width = 395 um
At higher magnification, the region around "E" in Oral Cavity 01 reveals several elements that may be found in the interlobular connective tissue, including blood vessels (A), a small bundle of nerve fibers (B), and two large ducts. The duct labeled C, lined by a stratified cuboidal epithelium, is clearly an excretory duct, whereas the one labeled D is probably one in transition from striated duct to excretory duct. While most of the acini in this field are of the serous variety, some small clusters of mucous cells can be found (E).
