LYMPHOID TISSUES 14

Hide Legend
Full frame width = 165 um

This high magnification micrograph of a human lymph node shows a portion of the capsule projecting inward as a trabeculum (T). The left half of the field shows a (cortical) lymph nodule (LN, no germinal center is obvious). Running down the center of the field is the subcapsular (or trabecular) sinus (S), containing scattered lymphocytes and sectioned portions of the reticular fibers that span the sinus. The arrows point to the nuclei of reticular cells, resting on the fibers they synthesized.
