Full frame width = 395 um
This field shows part of the medulla of a lymph node. Dark regions such as those labeled "MC" are medullary cords. The paler regions between these medullary cords contain blood vessels ("BV") as well as numerous medullary sinuses, lymphatic channels through which lymph percolates with lymphocytes entering and exiting through the endothelial linings of the sinuses. The region around the "X" is seen at higher magnification in Lymphoid Tissues 06
