Full frame width = 165 um
Here, at higher magnification, is the region around "P" in Esophagus and Stomach 02. This field reveals the numerous parietal cells (some of which are labelled "P") and chief cells (some of which are labelled "C") that are found in the fundic glands near the base of the mucosa. It also shows clearly that, while each cell type is found in clusters, both are found together, being neighbors in the same (glandular) epithelium.
