This is a preparation of onion root tip which, as a rapidly growing plant tissue, shows many cells undergowing mitosis. Although most of the nuclei are of cells in interphase, there are many recognizable "mitotic figures" such as: At arrow A - a cell in anaphase; at arrow B - a cell at metaphase, and at arrow C - a cell in prophase.
