This is from an alternative copy of slide D13, to which you should refer for overall orientation. Please feel free to move the slide around and examine it with the lower power objectives so as to see the structures illustrated in the plate with low power micrographs of D13. BUT, WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED, PLEASE RESET THE FIELD AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO WHERE YOU BEGAN! This higher magnification image shows some of the cardiac muscle cells (fibers) in the myometrium of the heart. Although individual myofibrils are hard to distinguish, it should be obvious that you are looking at the branching fibers characteristic of cardiac muscle, with cross striations, central nuclei and intercalated disks (labeled "IC").
Slide K-14, field G4 of finder slide A, 16X objective.
