This was taken from an alternate copy of slide H76 (in a region similar to that shown at the ->), showing a portion of the scrotal sac. This material was fixed by perfusion, which tends to distend vessels and empty them of their contents in the order arterial>venous>>lymphatic. Several vessels are identified as follows: A - small artery; V - small vein; sV - branch of small vein, somewhat larger than a venule; vl - venule; C - two capillaries; ar - probably an arteriole. Note the smooth muscle in the media of the artery, the reduced amount of smooth muscle in the media of the vein, and the nearly-featureless material (lymph) in the lumens of the lymphatics.
